spinning madness

my fibre drying after it came out of the dye.

current balls that i have spun i am very happy with these.

For weeks now i have been home spinning on and off and its taking so long. the alpaca im using is so difficult to spin with as it has such short lengths.

over time though i have been startimg to get somewhere and im very happy with the results.

dye day

my end collection of ten yarns all different colours and methods of kettle dyeing and hand painting.

pink and purple yarn just coming out of the microwave.

kettle dyeing on the hob which i really liked and really liked the effect.

For the first time i have dyed some wool and it did go well even though its a messy job i loved it and am very happy with the results.

magic scarf

many people give me wool if they try to knit or find they have to much and yesterday i was given five balls of discontinued rowan bigga print so i had to find a pattern that would work with five balls.

i decided to make a magic scarf that you knit a scarf to about one third of the length you need it and then when you cast off drop every other stitch.

as i only had a small ammont of wool i thought this would be the best pattern to make and im very happy with how its turned out.

baby knitting

all of a sudden many of my friends have got pregnant and i have been in knitting baby overdrive knitting many small things.

the cardigan i have here is a sailor cardigan by sublime but knitting in sirdar.

the pattern was easy to follow and i found it interesting to do the collar was difficult with short row shaping as well as increases and decreasing at the same time.

my dads jumper is finally finished it has been done and even though i have flu i have finished it i am so happy even thought it took so long and i needed to knit more ribbing for the bottom as my dad is so large.

the cable jumper that have been making for what feels like years is nearly finished i made a error and my dad has a longer body than i thought and i have had to add 20 Row's extra of ribbing to add length.
as well as this i found a blanket i gave up on and have made some huge progress with the blanket
which i am very happy with.

birthday

my birthday has come and gone and i got so much wool and knitting things it was lovely.

for a pair of cushions i now have some Jameson and smith jumper weight Shetland wool ,

as well as some new Lorna's laces sock wool as well as some knitting books rowan classic casuals and studio 19 which has 5 patterns that i would like to make.

also my favourite sock wool natural dye studio.
